Education of body and ethnic-racial relations under the gaze of teachers

Abstract

The question that we intend to answer here is: what are the view teachers about the subject of education for ethnic-racial relations, especially those who have the body as a central element in their educational practices? A bibliographical analysis was carried out for the conceptualization of the term education of body; analytical exercise pointing out how pro-cesses education of body can give visibility to the education for ethnic-racial relations in school; field research represented by interviews with three teachers from a school in the city of Rio de Janeiro: a Performing Arts teacher, a  Physical Education teacher and a Music teacher. The data pointed to two analytical categories: knowledge about educational policies focused on the theme; educational practices, curricular or not, focusing on ethnic-racial relations. Alt-hough the theme is not observed in the planning of all teachers, there is awareness about this.
