Considering the National Education Plan (PNE), approved by Law no. 13.005 / 2014, this article aims to analyze the statecraft of expansion of the Brazilian postgraduate, in particular the training of doctors to meet goal 14 (strategy 14.12). For that, an exploratory study was carried out with specificities of the qualitative approach, with the use of documents and statistical data. Thus, the data were collected in the Geocapes information system, and the Research Groups Directory of CNPq (DGP / CNPq), which allows to conclude that Brazil should improve the mechanisms for postgraduate training so that it can increase the number of qualified doctors since, in 2014, the indices still showed the existence of one doctor per thousand inhabitants, and it is necessary to quintuple this number to meet the goal.Downloads
