A relação entre incubadoras de empresas e as regiões em que se localizam no estado do rio de janeiro: uma comparação entre metrópole e interior

Objetivo: Este artigo tem como objetivo analisar a relação das incubadoras de empresas com as cidades e regiões em que se localizam no Estado do Rio de Janeiro (ERJ), fazendo uma comparação entre metrópole e interior.
Metodologia: O estudo possui caráter qualitativo e utilizou o método de estudos de casos múltiplos. Foram selecionadas oito incubadoras de empresas em quatro regiões do estado – Metropolitana, Norte Fluminense, Sul Fluminense e Serrana. Além de pesquisa documental, também foram realizadas entrevistas semiestruturadas com gestores e empresários incubados que, posteriormente, foram analisadas por meio da técnica de Análise de Conteúdo, com foco nas subcategorias “fatores socioinstitucionais” e “alinhamento com setor produtivo regional”.
Originalidade: A maior parte dos estudos sobre incubadoras foca somente no seu funcionamento interno ou na dinâmica das firmas. Há uma carência de estudos que relacionem às incubadoras ao contexto geográfico no qual elas estão inseridas.
Principais Resultados: Os principais resultados encontrados foram que cada contexto regional específico apresenta potencialidades e obstáculos que influenciam na atuação das incubadoras; e que, além da localização, outros fatores também interferem no impacto e na penetração das incubadoras em suas respectivas cidades e regiões.
Contribuições Teóricas: O estudo aprofundou a compreensão das incubadoras enquanto instituições-ponte e permitiu entender de que maneira o contexto regional influencia a dinâmica das mesmas.
