Abstract

To carry out the initial proposal, it was established a comparative board containing the quantitative indices of Brazilian comics, considering the distribution of foreign production in publishing market. One considered the statistic analysis and research of comics editions distributed in Brazil from 1934 to 1970. For this, library resources were consulted, taking the study and catalogation of the comics distributed in Brazil (made by Mario Tabarin, Enrique Lipstick and Álvaro Moya) as primary document, when occurred the Exposição Internacional de Histórias em Quadrinhos (Internacional Exposition of Comics), at Masp (São Paulo Museum of Art), in 1970.
