The aim of this paper is to discuss such problem and reach the most possible accurate decision about the nature of the intervention programs which are related to sports activities, based on some physiological, cognitive, social and motor characteristics of children at such age. As a result it is suggested that programs addressed to these children should be mainly based on both rhythmic and challenging activities as well as games with clear rules. Other drawn suggestion is that in order to reach the best decision about the program to be adopted, the professionals have to take into account the peculiarities of each age group they are going to work with. In this way it is recommended that such programs should be grounded in the developmental approach bases.
