The book: the solution of the problem

Abstract

The work is the observation of a fundamental point of Didáctica Magna of João Amós Coménio, his passion for textbooks and the comparison and application of this concept in the Brazilian educational policies, particularly in reading. We contextualize the time when Coménio lived to situate the reader. After seen the application of this concept in the policy of forming readers, we will briefly make a critical review, suggesting that other aspects than the distribution of literature books to students of certain grades of public schools should be valued.
