Multiculturalism and ethnic-racial relations in education of first childhood

This article presents an analysis on multiculturalism, ethnic-racial relations and early childhood. These terms are recurrent in the discourse of educators, managers and social movements. Most of the school's political-pedagogical projects record these words. However, the discourse and the document do not always represent reality. Multiculturalism is an expanded concept that encompasses different cultures, but can accentuate the supremacy of one culture over another. To talk about ethnic-racial relations is to talk about life, equality and democracy. It means confronting the debate on racism, prejudice and discrimination. The school must resolve the ethnic conflicts that occur in early childhood so as not to contribute to the perpetuation of racism.Downloads
