In this article, our aim is to reflect on the relations formed by a specific social practice between the religious discourse, and the human activity ‘give a testimony’ and the types and genders of discourse which to such practice adhere. Through a linguistic and discursive analysis, we assume that, on this hypothetical dialogued activity, the devotee performs the role of a ventriloquist, thus, the religious institution possesses the devotee speech to continue its own Discourse, which allows us to, at least, mention a subversion of the testimony gender. To reach our goal, we selected from our practice analysis, as a theoretic methodological basis, considerations on the gender of discourse, textual typology and narrative aspects.Downloads
