Literature and pragmatism: contemporaneous purpose theory of the literary critic

Abstract

The present article analyses the main contemporary literary criticism tendencies, and points out the relations between literature and pragmatism. The pragmatic perspective reveals some aspects of literature, as the reader-response criticism, the literary system and the literary institutionalization.
