By means of a bibliographical and empirical investigation, mainly analyzing Paulo Freire's epistemological principles of Pedagogy of the oppressed, this study discusses the constitution of Hip-Hop as a social and cultural movement, establishing its relations with the multicultural perspective. The analysis developed in this research revealed that Hip-Hop is today a unique worldwide phenomenon as it involves young people and adults from the peripheries of the entire planet. It is a movement that manifests itself in different places and, in many cases, it is translated as the only alternative to the multiple forms of violence, revealing itself, therefore, also as an educating and socio-cultural resistance process. Hip-Hop is also marked by a profound dialectical character, which manifests itself unfinished and in permanent movement of constitution and reconfiguration in the social scenery.Downloads
