Abstract

In this article, it is presented a study about the discursive heterogeneity process of the lyric Profecia (ou testamento da ira) [Prophecy (or will of the anger)] performed by the theatrical and musical group Cordel do Fogo Encantado (CFE). It is interesting to see how the group, from the Pernambuco’s hinterland, introduced the lyric through utterances produced by prophets who lived in this area, such as the prophets Pajé Cauã and Antônio Conselheiro. Thus, CFE brings the statements and the voices of the prophets as its own speech, showing a discursive heterogeneity. In this research, the interaction between the performer and the authors’ speech are considered, which is constituted of several other speeches.
