Abstract

This article considers the importance of cinema as a documental source in educational research and it takes as a mean axle and analysis vector the film untitled Suburban Angels by Carlos Reichenbach. It is believed that iconography in classroom may consist another important tool that would make it possible to understand questions that compose the dialectic relationship among History, Cinema and social reality. This article defends an articulation between reality and the necessity of inclusion of aspects related to cultural and democratic dimension of the ones who are involved in the educative act. It also emphasizes the care in treating the film as a documental source in research; its aim is to break with mechanist conception of the simplistic way of analyzing these aspects of cinema.
