In any history of the studies on the language, great questions were done about the relation between the words and the world. We could observe, with that, the preoccupation of the man in solving the ties that separate or fuse the language of the reality that orientates it. This work aims to talk at several conceptions on the díade language and social reality, detaching the theoretical picture of Norman Fairclough (1989, 2001, 2003), considered one of the principal exponents on the subject in the recent linguistic studies and what, according to which, the relation of the language with the world gives itself through a dialectic activity between both. Our intention is referential system draws a view on the theories about the relation between world and language postulated by the foregoing theoreticians and discursive-partner of Fairclough to underline the relevance of the perspective for the linguistic contemporary studies, pointing to his concepts and his applicability.Downloads
