Abstract

Abstract: The technicist pedagogy is an approach that arose in Brazil between the 60´s and 70´s, deeply affected by the military coup, it’s possible to notice some of its characteristics. This tendency, originated in the United States in the second half of the twentieth century, has its bases on the Positivism of Comte and the Behaviorist Psychology of Skinner. Therefore this article has the objective of verifying the convergent points between the technicist tendency characteristics and the scholastic physical education performance. Teachers from public and private school were interviewed by using a semi-directed interview. The results show that there are great differences in the performance between public and private institutions, the teacher from the first one (public) showed in his performance some characteristics sharply technicist.
